Riverside’s Hicks Wins in Speedway

Gary Hicks of Riverside won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program before 5,118 spectators Saturday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Andy Northrup of Alta Loma finished second, Ed Castro of Ojai was third, Bart Bast of Auburn was fourth and Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was fifth.
