Artist Sought for Chavez Monument
The city is accepting letters of interest and resumes from artists who want to be considered for the design of a monument to honor the late Mexican American labor leader Cesar Chavez.
A panel of art professionals and community representatives will select the artist or team to work in collaboration with the Recreation and Community Services Department.
The Cesar Chavez memorial project will be located at the city’s south entrance near the corner of Truman and Wolfskill streets, adjacent to the Metrolink railway and San Fernando bike path.
Artists from anywhere in the United States interested in the project should call the recreation department at (818) 898-1290.
