CANOGA PARK — Two men were in critical condition Monday after they were burned in an electrical panel explosion at a discount clothing store, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis.
The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. at Designer Labels 4 Less in the 6500 block of Canoga Avenue, Collis said.
“There was a short in the electrical panel and when an employee of the store and an electrician opened the panel, it exploded,” he said. “Both were burned badly.”
Collis could not immediately provide the names of the victims.
One man was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center and the other to Columbia West Hills Medical Center, Collis said.
The store’s manager declined comment.
