California Amplifier Inc. in Camarillo said figures for second-quarter sales that ended Aug. 28 were $18.5 million, double over a year ago.
The company posted a net income of $901,000 or 7 cents per diluted share compared with a loss a year earlier of $837,000 or 7 cents per share.
“The significant increase in sales and earnings both in the second quarter and in the first six months of this fiscal year resulted primarily from strong shipments of U. S. DBS satellite products,” said Fred Sturm, chief executive officer. However, “wireless product shipments continue to be weak.”
California Amplifier designs and manufactures microwave amplifiers and antennas used in conjunction with satellite video and land-based broad-band products.
