Coach Dave Bennett of Harvard-Westlake is keeping under wraps one of his team’s best offensive weapons, 6-foot-4 senior quarterback Bryan Carlson.
The Wolverines (2-0) have passed for only 105 yards in two games, and that’s fine with Bennett, who wants to bring Carlson along slowly.
“He can throw the ball, but I didn’t want to set him up for failure or put everything on his shoulders,” Bennett said.
Carlson took only three snaps last year. The left-hander has a strong arm and good mobility. As the Wolverines begin to face tougher opponents, look for Carlson to become more prominent in the offensive.
