Marjorie Alexander Gorrie, Tustin Union High School class of ‘49, said that members from her class will circulate a petition supporting correcting the name of Bruno Drive to Bruns Drive at a joint reunion today of classes ’36 through ‘49, which is being held at the Elks Lodge in Santa Ana.
The street name was misspelled when it was named about seven years ago for John Bruns, class of ‘49, who was killed in action during the Korean War.
Community Development Director Elizabeth Binsack said at Monday night’s City Council meeting that she is waiting to hear from all the residents on Bruno Drive before she makes a recommendation to the council to either change the street name or name a new street after Bruns.
