VALLEY / VENTURA COUNTY SPORTS : ROUNDUP : Alemany’s Rosdail Cuts New Record

Senior Ryan Rosdail shaved 49 seconds off of his course record at O’Melveny Park in Granada Hills on Thursday and Alemany High swept the first four places in a 17-43 Mission League boys’ cross-country victory over Harvard-Westlake.
Rosdail ran the three-mile course in 17 minutes 16 seconds for the Indians (1-1, 1-1 in league meets).
Oak Park Invitational--Mark Nevers led Oak Park to a sweep of the first three places and the Eagles beat runner-up Agoura, 31-41, at Oak Canyon Park.
Nevers covered the three-miles in 15:56. Rik Wackenstedt (17:06) was second and Ben Saxey (17:10) third.
Laura Jakosky of Agoura won the girls’ race in 19:34 and runner-up Kristen Anderson ran 20:21 to help Westlake to the team title.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Crescenta Valley 11, Burbank 7--Buoyed by eight victories in doubles play, the Falcons (3-2) pulled off an upset in a nonleague match at Burbank.
The No. 1 team of Shira Seigel and Ashley Goodwin and the No. 2 team of Kara MacDonald and Haas Wu each won three sets.
Olga Yepremian of Burbank swept, 6-0, 6-4, 6-1.
Ventura 10, Simi Valley 8--Annie Ludes and Katy O’Brien swept at No. 1 doubles to help the Cougars (5-0) to a nonleague victory at Ventura.
Rebecca Hunau did not lose a game at No. 2 singles for Simi Valley (5-1).
Hart 11, Glendale 7--Jamie Ladd and Heidi Gragg, the Indians’ No. 1 doubles team, improved to 13-1 by defeating three opponents in a nonleague match at Hart.
Christina Cancio, the Indians’ No. 1 singles player, won three sets, 7-5, 6-1, 7-5.
Calabasas 13, St. Bonaventure 5--Vanessa Everly and Dana Schnitman swept their doubles sets and the Coyotes (5-0) won a nonleague match at Calabasas.
Schnitman, a freshman, was one of three members of the Calabasas junior varsity playing in place of three starters who were suspended for missing practice.
Campbell Hall 11, Notre Dame 7--Melissa Nguyen lost just one game, and Christine Berberian and Rubina Andonian swept their doubles sets in a nonleague victory for the Vikings (4-1) at Notre Dame.
Nguyen, a senior, is 15-0 in sets and has lost only two games.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Nordhoff 11, Oxnard 8--Peter Hickok had eight of his 18 saves in the fourth quarter to preserve the Rangers’ nonleague victory at Nordhoff.
Danny Sheperd had seven goals for Nordhoff (3-5).
Oxnard is 0-5.
Burroughs 9, San Bernardino 7--Jason Falitz had five goals for Burroughs (11-2) in the Rowland tournament.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Hart def. Highland 15-13, 13-2, 2-13, 15-10--Casey Boller had nine kills and five aces for the Indians (2-1) in a nonleague match at Hart.
Rosamond def. Littlerock, 15-8, 9-15, 15-9, 4-15, 15-10--Alison Gorny had 32 assists and Jessica Ramos had 10 blocks but the Lobos (3-1) lost a nonleague match at Littlerock.
Marlborough def. Notre Dame, 15-8, 9-15, 15-11, 13-15, 15-10--Sarah Braga had 23 kills, 17 digs and six aces but the Knights (3-2) lost at Marlborough.
MEN’S SOCCER
Biola 3, The Master’s College 0--Mark Wade had to make only two saves to record a shutout for the Eagles in a nonconference game at Biola.
The Master’s (4-7) was outshot, 15-8.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
CS Northridge def. Portland State, 15-12, 15-13, 15-9--Laura Szymanski had 22 kills and 10 digs for the Matadors at Northridge.
Alexis Cormier added 17 kills and 18 digs for the Matadors (4-2, 2-1).
