At a recent City Council meeting, Jackson Elementary School fifth-grader Jaime Flores was recognized for winning the Santa Ana Unified School District’s 1999 Districtwide Spelling Bee. He spelled quiche correctly. Also at the meeting, Police Service Officer Gloria Perez was recognized for her outstanding service to the residents of the Westend Community Oriented Policing District.
