Rail Crossings

How many times do people have to be killed at railroad crossings before something is done to prevent this needless slaughter (March 29)? In England, where there are numerous railroad crossings, the gates completely cross the road on both sides of the track, thus preventing cars from driving round the barriers. It seems inconceivable that one of the wealthiest countries in the world cannot afford to install similar barriers that would prevent drivers from entering into the path of oncoming trains.
Such barriers would have prevented the Georgia school bus accident and the numerous Blue Line accidents.
