Michael Schultz pitched a seven-hitter and struck nine to lead Loyola Marymount to a 4-3 victory over Pepperdine in a West Coast Conference game at Malibu.
The complete game by Schultz (5-4) was the third of the series for Loyola (23-13, 11-4). The Lions won the final two games of the three-game series.
First baseman Kris Zacuto had two runs batted in, and center fielder Mike Hymes and second baseman Anthony Angel each had one.
Designated hitter Dane Ball went three for three, including a two-run homer in the seventh, and center fielder Danny Garcia had an RBI for Pepperdine (22-16, 11-3).
