Johnnie’s New York Pizzeria & Caffe chain has been acquired by Century City-based holding company California Fresh Deli for an undisclosed amount. CFD, which had $3 million in revenue last year, plans to expand the Johnnie’s chain by opening up to six new stores this year, from Thousand Oaks to Orange, spokeswoman Kathleen Russell said. There are six Johnnie’s locations around Southern California. Johnnie’s founder William Karges will continue to be involved in the merged company. CFD operates Wall Street Deli stores and several Taco Bell franchises.
