A gun-control advocate whose son was murdered in New York City in 1994 will speak April 26 at the Central Library.
Charles L. Blek, along with his wife, Mary, founded the Orange County Citizens for Prevention of Gun Violence. He recently met with Gov. Gray Davis to celebrate the signing of a bill requiring childproof safety locks on some guns.
The 6:45 p.m. event at the library is sponsored by the Democratic Club of West Orange County. Admission is free.
