A 14-year-old Moorpark High School student was arrested Friday on suspicion of bringing a pellet gun to school, authorities said.
The boy did not fire the gun or point it at classmates, said a Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.
The suspect, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, is being held on a felony charge of bringing the weapon to school. He is in custody at Juvenile Hall.
Authorities said Moorpark High School’s on-campus deputy was alerted that a student had the pellet gun. The boy was questioned and found to have the gun, they said.
An investigation is continuing.
