Pierce Runs It Up on Ventura

Kris Dominique had three hits and two runs batted in, and Pierce College defeated Ventura, 10-1, in a nonconference game Wednesday at Pierce.

Traviss Hodge added two hits and three RBIs for the Brahmas (19-11).

Pierce scored nine runs in the fourth inning, when Dominique and Hodge each had two hits.

Fresno 12, Canyons 9--Tommy Boyd hit three home runs for Fresno (27-7) in a Hancock tournament game.

Shortstop Tim Hutting had two doubles and three RBIs for Canyons (18-4).

In an earlier game, Harbor defeated Canyons, 10-4. Melee Tulanoa struck out nine for Harbor and Chris Mayberry hit a two-run home run for Canyons.

Vanguard 6, Cal Lutheran 5--Bryan Davis’ bases-loaded single in the ninth gave host Vanguard (7-34) a nonconference victory over the Kingsmen (21-7).

Glendale 8, East Los Angeles 6--Andy Karp hit a two-run home run for host Glendale (15-19) in a Fullerton tournament game.
