SANTA FE SPRINGS — Police were searching Tuesday for a 67-year-old man suspected of killing his estranged wife Monday morning.
A man who identified himself as the victim’s husband, Claude Ramsdell, called police Monday to tell them about the shooting, said Whittier Police Lt. Bill Webster.
Authorities found Belia Ramsdell, 52, in the backyard of the couple’s home in the 11500 block of Lakeland Road, Webster said. She had been shot several times and died at the scene, Webster said.
When police arrived, Claude Ramsdell was gone. The couple had been separated.
