Boxer on Taxes
* Sen. Barbara Boxer (letter, July 30) has forgotten or ignored one very important fact--the people who would be getting the largest amount of tax relief are those who paid the largest amount of taxes. According to Boxer, those who paid taxes don’t deserve tax relief, yet those who didn’t pay taxes deserve tax relief. Her position is a morally unsustainable argument in favor of income redistribution, an intellectually dishonest position disguised in the rhetoric of “fairness.”
