With just three days to go before the nomination period ends, only three residents have qualified to run for two seats on the City Council.
Councilwoman Marcia Rudolph and newcomers David Carter and Sharon Hankins have each completed the necessary paperwork to begin their campaigns.
Five other residents, including Councilwoman Helen Wilson, have picked up nomination forms but not returned them yet.
Candidates have until 5 p.m. Friday to submit their paperwork, unless Wilson chooses not to run again. If so, the filing period will be extended to Aug. 16.
