The City Council has named a former head of the Orange County Sanitation District to serve as interim city manager.
Donald F. McIntyre, 70, retired as general manager of the district in May. He said he has no plans to seek the permanent position.
Council members plan to use McIntyre as a consultant in the search for a permanent city manager to replace Keith Till, who resigned Aug. 3. McIntyre said the search could take at least four months.
