A woman suspected in a Ventura convenience store robbery was arrested after police traced the alleged getaway car to a home in Piru, authorities said Friday.
Susan Hill, 46, was taken into custody Thursday night at home and remained in jail Friday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Authorities believe that Hill robbed a Circle K in the 11000 block of Citrus Drive on Monday afternoon of less than $100 before fleeing in her car. She allegedly drove to Nevada after the robbery and returned to Piru on Thursday.
Details about the getaway car and a description of the suspect from witnesses led officers to Hill’s home, said Ventura Police Sgt. George Morris.
When officers arrested Hill, they discovered that her car had recently been painted a different color and that someone had used a colored marker to alter the license plate, Morris said.
The sergeant said that money and other physical evidence were seized from Hill. Her car was impounded.
