Wake Forest Finds a Hotshot in Songaila

Forward Darius Songaila, one of the few players who could make some shots, scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half to lead visiting Wake Forest to a 67-53 victory over Clemson on Sunday.
Songaila made six of nine shots--scoring three of his baskets in the final minutes as the Demon Deacons, 10-4 overall and 1-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, won for the first time in three games after dropping out of the national rankings.
Clemson (6-8, 0-2) missed 18 of its first 21 shots and finished at 33% (20 for 60). Guard Will Solomon, the ACC’s leading scorer, had 26 points but made only eight of 19 shots.
Wake Forest shot 41.2%.
