The Placentia-Yorba Linda school board voted last week to continue renting space at the Placentia Boys and Girls Club building for its Community Day School Program.
This program, called Estuary, was started by the district last year for at-risk high school students, mostly freshmen and sophomores, district spokeswoman Karen Bass said.
“These are students who are on the verge of dropping out, who have trouble fitting into a regular classroom environment,” she said.
The goal of the program, which operates five days a week, six hours a day, is to take a year to help these students go back to the classroom, Bass said.
