The Police Department will conduct a checkpoint Thursday to catch motorists driving under the influence of alcohol.
The time and location of the checkpoint will not be announced.
Capt. Paul Workman said the date was arbitrarily selected, but noted that most checkpoints are established on Saturday nights because of the high volume of traffic.
Motorists will be pulled over at random to be questioned and tested.
