The City Council appointed Roger Faubel on Monday night to fill a vacancy on the council until the November election.
Faubel is the co-founder of a marketing firm running the campaign against the proposed El Toro airport and a 14-year resident of the city.
The vacancy occurred when Councilman Tom Potocki died Dec. 28. Faubel will be sworn in at the Feb. 7 council meeting.
