Artists Might Forfeit Games

Laguna Beach Athletic Director Jonathan Todd said Saturday that the Artist boys’ basketball team might have to forfeit as many as eight victories for using an ineligible player.

According to Todd, the Southern Section is investigating the residency status of 6-foot-10 center Chris Manker, who joined the team in mid-December after moving from Iowa. Manker played in 10 games, but was held out of Friday’s nonleague loss to Laguna Hills.
