The City Council will consider a new ordinance that will lower the speed limit on three city roads at its meeting Thursday.
The council asked staff to draft the ordinance after reviewing a speed study and recommendations submitted by the traffic engineering firm of Minagar & Associates.
The speed limit would be reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph on Avenida de las Flores south of Antonio Parkway; from 50 mph to 45 mph on Melinda Road between Santa Margarita Parkway and Regresso and from 45 mph to 40 mph on Antonio Parkway between Elena Honesto and Marbella.
