Lancaster Adds to Lead

Antonio Perez hit a solo home run and Lancaster defeated High Desert, 9-6, in a California League South Division game Thursday at Lancaster.
Perez finished with three runs batted in for the JetHawks (39-28), who moved two games ahead of San Bernardino, which lost to Mudville of Stockton, 5-3.
Three games are left in the first half of the season.

Garland struck out four, allowed four hits and did not walk a batter. . . . Class A--Center fielder Jorge Piedra (Notre Dame) had a triple and two singles and drove in four runs for Vero Beach (Dodgers) in a 15-11 loss to Jupiter.
