City officials have decided to block off a small street they say is no longer needed. Over the objections of some area residents, City Council members voted Monday to close Erna Avenue at Harbor Boulevard.
City Manager Thomas G. Mauk said access to Harbor Boulevard is no longer needed because there are alternate routes in place for Erna Avenue residents.
Land occupied by a 255-foot segment of the street west of Harbor will be turned over to owners of adjoining properties.
