Santos’ Two Homers Lead Mater Dei, 14-4

Mater Dei’s Sergio Santos hit two home runs, as the Monarchs defeated Woodbridge, 14-4, in the third-place game in the Foothill tournament Saturday at Windrow Park.
They were Santos’ third and fourth home runs of the season for Mater Dei (2-2). Mike Harris had two hits, including a home run, and had three runs batted in for the Monarchs.
Winning pitcher Richard Mercado, who had three hits, gave up two hits in four innings.
Woodbridge is 2-2.
In consolation games:
Corona del Mar 7, Magnolia 2--Derek Loe had two hits, a double and three RBIs for Corona del Mar (3-1).
Sonora 3, Foothill 0--Jamie Lozano had two hits and an RBI for Sonora (3-1). Mike Castillo struck out seven in five innings for Foothill (2-2).
