The City Council has approved contracts with Los Angeles-based American Restoration and Construction Co. and Irvine-based Leighton and Associates to build a skateboard area at Richard T. Steed Memorial Park for about $566,000.
Construction on the skate park, which should open in September or October, will begin next month.
