Driver Dies in Cypress Crash

A male driver was killed Sunday in a crash that closed a major thoroughfare, Cypress police said.
The victim’s name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, said Lt. David Birozy.
The car-van crash occurred about 5:40 p.m. at Katella Avenue and Valley View Street. Traffic was blocked for more than an hour while police examined the scene.
The van was driven by Jeffrey Miller, 18, of Buena Park, who was not injured.
Cause of the accident is under investigation.
