Nominees Sought for Volunteer Awards

Nonprofit agencies in northern Los Angeles County can nominate their most outstanding volunteers for the 2000 Golden Rule Awards until April 5, officials said Monday.
The winners will be announced at a luncheon May 19 at the Calabasas Inn. The Golden Rule Awards honor volunteers who work to improve the quality of life in their communities, said Jeffrey Scott, spokesman for the Volunteer Center, affiliated with the Assistance League of Southern California.
The center matches would-be volunteers with organizations. Individual and group winners will receive trophies, certificates and award money.
