Ice Dog Defense Stifles Detroit in 4-1 Victory

The Long Beach defense set team records by surrendering no shots in the third period and only 10 in the game as the Ice Dogs defeated the Detroit Vipers, 4-1, before 8,570 at the Long Beach Arena on Saturday night.

Vladimir Antipov scored his second goal of the season at 7:54 of the first period to get Long Beach on the board.

Pavel Rosa scored the Ice Dogs’ second goal on the power play at 3:03 of the second period.

The Ice Dogs finished the night two of six on the power play.

Goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin had an easy night, making only nine saves.

The Ice Dogs outshot the Vipers, 26 to 10.
