Residents have a chance to air their opposition to a proposed office complex and furniture store at the Planning Commission meeting today at 6:30 p.m.
The commission is expected to begin discussing the project in mid-June. The 93-acre site of the proposed project is a lima bean field between Fairview Road and Harbor Boulevard, just north of the San Diego Freeway.
The city originally designated the land for homes and small industry. But the developer, C.J. Segerstrom & Sons, is asking the city to instead allow a 17-acre IKEA store and nearly 2 million square feet of office space there.
The Planning Commission will meet at City Hall, 77 Fair Drive.
