Council members authorized the use of a $29,179 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant to provide more funds to the Brea Police Department’s bike patrol team. The bike team will beef up its patrol of the Gateway Shopping District and downtown areas.
The block grant, awarded to the city by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, also requires a matching fund of 10% from city officials.
