GUARDS
* GILBERT ARENAS: 6-3, 188 pounds, sophomore, starter. Only the second freshman in Arizona history to score 500 points. Third on team with 15.4 points a game.
* JASON GARDNER: 5-10, 181 pounds, sophomore, starter. First Arizona freshman to be named to the All-Pac-10 first team. Led team with 4.8 assists a game.
* LAMONT FRAZIER: 6-3, 183 pounds, senior. Backup at the point and shooting guard. A good athlete and solid defender.
* TRAVIS HANOUR: 6-6, 189 pounds, freshman. Expected to play at each of Arizona’s three perimeter positions.
* JOHN ASH: 5-11, 170 pounds, senior. Backup point guard.
CENTER
* LOREN WOODS: 7-1, 244 pounds, senior, starter. All-Pac-10 first team selection. Led Wildcats in scoring (15.6 points) and blocked shots (almost four a game) before season-ending back injury.
* JUSTIN WESSEL: 6-8 1/2, 240 pounds, senior. Although undersized, filled admirably at center for Woods last season.
FORWARDS
* MICHAEL WRIGHT: 6-7, 238 pounds, junior, starter. Arizona’s leading rebounder the past two seasons. Physical player who was an All-Pac-10 first-team selection last season. Also second in scoring at 15.5 points a game.
* RICHARD JEFFERSON: 6-7, 222 pounds, junior, starter. One of the most athletic players in the country, possibly the best dunker. Averaged 11.0 points last season.
* EUGENE EDGERSON: 6-7, 237 pounds, senior. Brings defensive and rebounding intensity.
* RICK ANDERSON: 6-9, 213 pounds, junior. Solid reserve. Good outside shooter and rebounder.
* LUKE WALTON: 6-8, 233 pounds, sophomore. Can play either forward position. Averaged 5.7 points last season.
