Pierce 21, Glendale 20--Leon Friend sacked Seth Santoro on a fake extra-point kick in overtime to give the Brahmas a come-from-behind victory in a WSC Northern Division game at Glendale High.
Santoro, who was the holder, scrambled to his left and tried to find an open receiver but was tackled at the 12-yard line. On the previous play, Commandor Lenoir scored on a two-yard run.
Michah Arnold caught the game-winning touchdown on a 20-yard pass from Jamaal Washington.
The Brahmas (3-7, 3-4), who trailed, 14-0, after the first quarter, rallied to the tie the score on Donald Carpenter’s one-yard run in the second quarter and Peter Gunny’s five-yard touchdown catch from Washington with 5:33 left in the third quarter.
The Vaqueros (3-7, 2-5) scored on a 70-yard run by Jamel Applewhite and a 10-yard run by Wes Jones, both in the first quarter.
