SEASON AT A GLANCE: The transfer from Alemany has had no problem adjusting in his first season as a starter. Clausen leads the region with 1,709 passing yards and 19 touchdowns. The 6-foot-3 left-handed quarterback has completed 63.1% of his passes in helping Taft to a 5-1 record. The Toreadors average 412 yards a game.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Clausen, who will attend Louisiana State, set school records for completions (24) and attempts (42) in Taft’s 40-6 victory over West Valley League rival Granada Hills. He passed for a career-high 340 yards and five touchdowns. Clausen connected with Steve Smith for two touchdowns and with Chris Morgan, Lee Marks and Clarence Simpson for the others.
