GOP Still Strong in South County

* Re “County Voters Go Their Own Way,” (Oct. 21):
Your article implies all of Orange County is defecting to the independent parties. Excluding perhaps Laguna Beach, I find it hard to believe that South County registered voters are among this migration. Your article does not support my contention because the presented data combine all Orange County voters. I believe the reported research does an injustice because it does not partition the north and south county.
Consequently, the article infers that Republicans are losing their clout entirely.
