Starting Tuesday, the posh Regent Las Vegas resort will get a modestly priced neighbor: the Suncoast Hotel & Casino, with rooms starting at $59 per night Sunday to Thursday, $89 Fridays and Saturdays.
Opened by Coast Resorts, which also runs the Barbary Coast on the Strip and the off-Strip Gold Coast and Orleans hotels, Suncoast is about 12 miles northwest of the Strip. Besides 430 rooms, about half of them opening Tuesday and the rest next year, the project has five restaurants, a 500-seat showroom (opening Friday with headliner Air Supply), bingo parlor, casino, 16-screen movie theater complex (opening Friday) and 64-lane bowling center. It is next to three golf courses. Tel. (702) 636-7111.
