BRAWLEY — A desert rescue team has found the body of a woman who disappeared last week while camping with her boyfriend.
Tracy Susanne Adair, 36, of Winterhaven, Calif., was found Sunday in a desert wilderness east of Brawley, said David Champagne, an investigator for the Imperial County coroner.
An autopsy was scheduled for today, but Champagne said Adair apparently died of exposure. Daytime temperatures in the area exceeded 100 degrees over the weekend.
Adair’s boyfriend, Mitchell Bergman, also of Winterhaven, reported her missing Sept. 6.
He told authorities that she walked off after they had an argument while camping at the Palm Oasis hot springs area. He had returned to the site several times to search for her, Champagne said.
