Latin American Festival Saturday

Residents are invited to celebrate Mexican Independence Day at the Canoga Park Latin American Festival 2000 on Saturday.
The first-time event, sponsored by the nonprofit Canoga Park Improvement Assn., will feature food, dancing, a raffle and musical and dance entertainment by several groups.
“The basic idea is to bring together community residents, business owners and merchants in Canoga Park for a social event, for exchanging of cultures,” said Vicki Gilkey, a program manager for the Canoga Park group.
The festival will run from 5:30 to 10 p.m. in the parking lot of Canoga Park Public Library, 7260 Owensmouth Ave. Admission is free.
