In Eatery, Bush Does Grilling

If things don’t work out in November, George W. Bush could always flip burgers.
At an impromptu stop during his California campaign swing, the Texas governor stepped behind the counter at Watson’s Drug Store in Orange and took over burger-flipping duties Thursday.
“How do you like ‘em? Raw?” Bush shouted to reporters as he stood, spatula in hand, before a griddle loaded with sizzling burgers. He tried his hand at turning one over and posed for a picture with the startled cook.
At the old-time drugstore, the GOP presidential nominee shook hands all around, even greeting a mannequin. “Hello, nice to meet you,” he quipped.
“How are the vanilla shakes here?” he asked a waitress as he made his way down the counter.
Bush gave her a 15-cent tip for the $2.85 drink--that’s about 5%, for all the candidate tip-watchers.
But she may have gotten even, perhaps unintentionally. Bush gave a long pull on the straw and opened the lid only to find that the shake was chocolate.
He indulged anyway.
