Parks Lead Fairmont to Season-Opening Shutout of CSDR

Stephen Park ran for 122 yards and two touchdowns and Jason Park ran for 93 and one touchdown as visiting Fairmont opened its season with a 28-0 victory over California School for the Deaf Riverside.
Fairmont scored in the first quarter on Stephen Park’s 26-yard run, then added a two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead. The drive began after the Huskies recovered a CSDR fumble at the Fairmont 33-yard line. In all, the Huskies scored three touchdowns off CSDR turnovers.
Fairmont took a 22-0 lead into halftime on the strength of another touchdown run by Stephen Park and a five-yard touchdown pass from Matt Gomez to Stephen Wandel. Jason Park closed the scoring Fairmont with a 52-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Fairmont finished the game with 294 yards rushing, while the Huskies’ defense held CSDR to 66 rushing and no pass completions.
