Firestone Tires

In 1978, my friend Joe and I used to make “radio shows” on our tape recorders. Once, we did a version of Dick Whittington’s “Clean Thoughts on a Dirty Wall” routine. Firestone tire failures were all over the news then, and one of my jokes was about buying your new tires “at Firestone’s Big Blowout Sale!” (Incidentally, I stole the joke from an issue of Mad magazine that was old even then.) It’s nice to know some things never change.
