Prosecutor Disputes Charge of Arab Terror

Police accusations that militant Israeli Arabs had planned widespread anti-Israeli violence are misplaced, a prosecutor said, casting official doubt on a claim that sparked Arab outrage last week. Haifa District Attorney Lili Borishansky said that the police files she received concerning the arrests of 41 Arabs from the town of Umm al Fahm and three West Bank Palestinians contain no evidence of planned terror. Alik Ron, northern Israel’s police chief, last week suggested that the suspects were involved in a pattern of planned terror.
