An employee of a private psychiatric hospital in Canoga Park has been charged with committing lewd acts with a 13-year-old female patient, police said Tuesday.
Quincy Crawford, 26, was charged Sept. 15 with two counts of committing lewd acts with a child under 14.
Crawford was released on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 6, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.
Crawford was arrested Sept. 13, after the patient at Pinegrove Hospital told authorities she and Crawford had engaged in sexual acts, police said.
The head of Pinegrove refused to say whether Crawford was still employed at the facility.
“This is really troubling for me,” said Patty Lepe, the hospital’s chief executive.
“We investigate every allegation thoroughly. We take the appropriate disciplinary action and that can result in termination.”
She declined to say whether an investigation was underway.
Pinegrove Hospital, at 7011 Shoup Ave., is an 80-bed psychiatric facility for adolescents and adults.
Det. Dale Barraclaugh, who supervises the LAPD’s Sexually Exploited Child Unit, said the investigation is continuing.
