Walt Disney Co. has applied for nine special-events permits as part of its plan to stage 13 job fairs in Anaheim between now and Feb. 8.
The series of fairs is part of a campaign to hire 8,500 employees by the scheduled opening date for the company’s new theme park, Disney’s California Adventure, adjacent to Disneyland.
“You name it, we’ve got it,” Disney spokeswoman Chela Castano-Lenahan said of the available jobs, which are in a variety of areas including food and hotel operations, custodial and costuming departments, security and retail.
The fairs, scheduled to begin in mid-October, will be at various locations in the Anaheim resort area. Two weeks ago, the company set up a large tent in a parking lot adjacent to the Team Disney Administration Building on West Ball Road as part of its recruiting effort.
