Workers began burying utility lines in Doheny Village this week in an attempt to make the area look better.
The $750,000 project will take about two months to complete, said Bob Warren, public works director.
“Bits and pieces of traffic will be disrupted,” Warren said. “But it will make the skyline look a lot better.”
About 12% of the city’s utility lines are underground, Warren said.
The village is a business and industrial area bordered by Las Vegas and Domingo avenues and Victoria Boulevard and Doheny Park Road.
