Oak View Branch Library is inviting the public to its fifth-anniversary celebration from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m today at 17521 Oak Lane.
The 1,800-square-foot library has offered a number of educational opportunities for residents in the Oak View area, including a literacy program encouraging both children and their parents to learn to read and write, library officials said. In 1995, the League of California Cities awarded the library the Helen Putnam Award for its efforts, the officials added.
The anniversary celebration includes face-painting, cake and live music. Information: (714) 375-5068.
