Oxnard’s Roger Medal and Glendale’s Carlos Martinez are scheduled to fight 10 rounds tonight at the Irvine Marriott for the California State lightweight title. Medal, a native of Nicaragua, is 12-2 with four knockouts. Martinez is 9-14 with one knockout.
Headlining the undercard is Westminster heavyweight Javier Mora, who won his pro debut last month at the Arrowhead Pond with a first-round knockout of Phoenix’s Tom Allen. Mora will face Eric Mason of Las Vegas, who is making his pro debut, in a four-round bout.
In another four-round fight, Mike Anchondo (4-0, four knockouts) of La Puente will face Roberto Colin (6-2) of Los Angeles.
The undercard begins at 7:30.
